Ensenada is a growing community well known for its hospitality, sea food industry and agricultural products. Founded by Spaniards, developed by the British, with influence from French, Russian and Chinese settlers, with thousands of U.S. visitors, Ensenada is a genuine cultural melting pot. It also has famous wineries, several universities, two research and post graduate centers, and Mexico's largest observatory.
Our visitors can easily enjoy the distinctive Mexican culture, music, arts, gastronomy and native crafts. The habitats of the region included in this large county vary from islands and coastal plains, to inland valleys with Mediterranean climate, Alpine scenery 7,000 feet above sea level and dessert in the East and South. Most grey whales are born and return yearly to the lagoons in the Guerrero Negro area. The region has many endemic species of plants and animals and also has been featured in many documentaries such as Ocean Oasis.
Our corporate name "Gran Peninsula" reflects on the life and beauty of Baja California, one of the World's most desired cruising areas.
